In 2010, the AIAMC welcomed two new members, IFS Vehicle Distributors ULC, as the exclusive distributor for SAAB vehicles in Canada, and Volvo Cars of Canada Corp.  With the addition of these two iconic Swedish brands the number of member companies in the AIAMC has increased to sixteen.

Collectively, the member companies of the AIAMC sold 838,508 an increase of 2.2% over 2009, and almost returning to the 840,533 sold in 2008.  The market share of the AIAMC members decreased at to 53.8% of the market from 56.2% in 2009, as a result of strong light duty truck sales and a highly competitive marketplace. 

AIAMC member companies continue to be leaders in the introduction of advanced safety and environmental technologies and produce many of the most fuel efficient vehicles available in the Canadian marketplace for Canadians. 

The members directly and indirectly employ some 77,000 Canadians, and over 50% of the vehicles sold by AIAMC member companies in Canada were built in North America.
